What a lousy day!

I was so poor thing yesterday. I failed in my Fried Apple Pie assignment. I still have no idea what was the cause of my failure. The dough was quite sticky. After flouring my hands, rolling pin and board, I could roll normally, but!! I couldn't get my intended shape because of its elasticity. I lost my patience, dumped the dough into the rubbish bin and stormed off to cool down.

For dinner, I cooked Rendang Chicken using Brahim's Kuah Rendang. Just like what was said in the forum, Brahim's Rendang Mix rocks! Very yummy! But!! after the food was in my stomach, then I realized that my Rendang Chicken photo turned up so ugly. My temperamental camera (*sigh* just like me) threw tantrum because of the gloomy weather (insufficient light *roll eyes*) *Arggghhhh!!!* Now I have to reduce the size of the photo to camouflage the poor quality and use it in my blog.

Rendang Chicken

Recipe is on Brahim's Kuah Rendang sachet itself.

Hi, I use Brahim's Rendang Mix as well. It rocks because you can make hot rendang in 10 minutes. JUST ADD FREAKIN' WATER. wOOts!!! Sometimes I don't have beef, so like I eat it with bread, like the 50c prata at the Gandhi store downstairs from my block (I wish; I moved from Asia [specifically Singapore] 10 years ago).

LOL! Enjoy your Malaysian food before I come eat it!

    BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!

    Eve,

Poor Eve *Pat*. Poor dough too got dump in the rubbish bin. :P

Aiyoh, won’t lah the photo of your rendang look so good to me. Is it very spicy? Your rending looks very fiery. The lighting should able to adjust too.

Jas, you said poor dough??!! *faint* *lol*

The rendang wasn't spicy at all despite its colour. Abt my camera, can't adjust anything because it is a real lousy camera, which I got free when I bought my Canon printer. Imagine my printer only cost around $150/- and I got a free camera? How can that camera be good then? *lol*

Eve, what if you add in more flour to the dough to make it less sticky? Should be able to handle in that way right?

Lin, after I floured my hands, rolling pin and board, the dough wasn't sticky anymore. But I couldn't control the dough when I tried to wrap the fillings in. The dough overstretched and I ended with oddly shaped "pie". When I lifted the "pie" carefully with the help of the rubber spatula, the dough tore. My mood just went downhill from there, and I didn't think of adding extra flour to salvage the dough. :P Blame it on Tazz personality. :(

Hi, next time you try any dough making remember to rest it maybe your recipe said to but you didn't give it enough time. You also could roll the dough between two layers of plastic..i.e saved cornflake plastic bag cut on one side and the bottom of the plastic, dust with a little of flour. Thanks for your ayam percik recipe will attempt next weekend lol orang M'sia downunder

    Hello,

Thanks for dropping by and your tips.

Tazz is the impatient type. *LOL* Anyway, hardly try any dough making recipes nowadays. But, I have improved in my cakes baking, though. =)

    regards,
